The Association of Assistance Dogs SA (AADSA) does not directly train or provide assistance dogs. This important work is carried out by our accredited member organizations, each of which specializes in various aspects of assistance dog services.
Our members operate in different ways—some are dedicated to training and providing fully trained assistance dogs, while others work with individuals to train their own pet dogs to become assistance dogs. To find out whether you qualify for a dog, whether you’re eligible for training a pet dog, or to learn about the application process, it is essential that you contact our member organizations directly. Since each member has their own specific criteria and procedures for application, we are unable to advise on these details ourselves.

From there, you can identify which member organization is best suited to your needs, and contact them directly for further information. Each organization has different services and approaches, so reaching out directly will ensure you receive the guidance tailored to your situation.
In addition to our accredited members, we work closely with a number of other assistance dog organizations that are in the process of obtaining the same accreditation that our members hold. These organizations are committed to providing high-quality assistance dogs and are actively working toward meeting the standards that AADSA requires. While there are certainly other organizations that may be able to provide assistance dogs, it’s important to note that we can only recommend those that are part of our accredited member network. As a result, we cannot vouch for or endorse any organizations outside of our membership. By working with our accredited members, you can be assured that you are engaging with organizations that meet the rigorous standards of AADSA.
